Another issue with the GPD is that they are not pushing the screen size down like this device is. In order for it to double as a phone it needs to stay small. If these ARM chips are all we have to look forward to, I’ll hedge my bets on Windows on ARM.

I’m an Aries, so it stands to reason that I’m partial to Dodge Ram ProMasters. I like their profile and tight turning radius: That’s key, since we make about 100 U-turns and K-turns a day. Problem is, most of the drivers in our company—there are about 40 of us—share my preference. The best vans go to drivers with seniority, even if they show up after I do. Tanita claims the device is small enough to be carried in a pocket, and can easily be used before important events like a business meeting or a date. 

The Gemini is the most luxurious of all. Spec wise, it’s a smartphone with a keyboard: 6-inch, 1080p 18:9 screen, Mediatek Helio X27 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage plus a MicroSD card. It can boot into either Android 7.1, or a Linux command-line—the latter function will make it a dream troubleshooting device for sysadmins and IT professionals.

Lenovo and HP are the only two other companies to ship Windows on ARM computers so far, but the Lenovo Miix 630 and HP Envy x2 are both tablets with detachable keyboards. The Asus NovaGo keyboard is built into the computer, which mean that this machine is a notebook first and a tablet second.

To achieve IP68 both the SIM card slot and the charging port have rubber gaskets, and the one for the USB port needs to be pulled out each time you charge it.

I tend to dive deeper into the camera section of review, but there is no need here — this camera is horrible!

As this design has a 5.5-inch screen, it makes the Kong 3 large, but hardly excessively big. And, without accessories, the phone weighs 285g, which for an IP68 phone with a big battery, places it on the lighter end of the robust phone scales.

It cannot use x86 drivers. While Windows 10 on ARM can run x86 Windows applications, it cannot utilize x86 drivers. Instead, it will require native ARM64 drivers instead. This means that hardware support will be much more limited than is the case with mainstream Windows 10 versions. In other words, it will likely work much like Windows 10 S does today.
