Introducing SWELL’s Surgical Wearable Terminal

Building a Hand-free Smarter, Safer Solution for Surgical Doc.

hands-free medical recording

In every surgery, time, precision, and collaboration are key to success or failure. However, many operating rooms still rely on manual or fragmented means to record intraoperative information to this day, which increases the risk of delays, missed steps, or miscommunication.

At SWELL, we’re driving a change. We’re developing a next-generation wearable terminal explicitly designed for surgical environments, with a focus on hands-free documentation, secure data sharing, and workflow automation.

That’s why we’re developing a surgical wearable terminal designed to deliver hands-free medical recording, secure real-time data sharing, and workflow automation in the OR.

Why This Matters: The Pain Points We’re Solving

  • Traditional methods disrupt surgical focus: Nurses and assistants must pause to handle equipment or transcribe notes, distracting them from patient care.
  • No standardized solution in most markets: There’s a lack of purpose-built documentation devices tailored for surgery.

Our Vision:

A lightweight, head-mounted wearable terminal with a minimalist UI, voice command interface, and the potential to integrate bone-conduction audio, enabling sterile and intuitive interaction—without touching any device.

Imagine a scenario: the surgeon says, “Start recording,” and the terminal begins capturing notes and timestamps instantly—no hands, no extra personnel, no delay.

This solution is engineered to meet CE MDR Class I compliance and can be configured for HIPAA-aligned encrypted uploads, ensuring patient data security and regulatory peace of mind.

Built on SWELL’s ODM DNA

  • Customizable hardware with modular voice/camera/bone conduction interfaces
  • Optimized structure for surgical wear (lightweight, sterilizable)
  • Proven experience in rugged terminals and medical customization

What We’re Looking For: Co-Creation with Clinical Partners

We’re looking forward to hospital partners and medical system integrators joining us in shaping this product. Your clinical insights into workflow, pain points, or device integration will help us develop a solution that truly aligns with the realities of surgical practice.

If you are interested in redefining intraoperative documentation and exploring the future of surgical collaboration, let’s start the conversation.

Contact us to share your experience, request more details, or co-develop a pilot project.
